A New Thing

Isaiah 43:18-19a, The Message
"Forget about what's happened;
don't keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.
It's bursting out! Don't you see it?"

This year has been crazy. So many days I just want to stop and think. And when I take the time to do that, I often become upset or bitter or angry. But God says that we are to do the exact opposite!

He says to let it go and ride His ride. He wants me to be present. Today is too much of a gift to be frustrated or hurt by things that happened yesterday. And if I'm so busy looking at the past, I'm going to miss today's gift!

Jesus help me to focus on you and only you. Help my mind and eyes to look toward you and what you have for me today. Open my eyes to see the gifts you have for me today.

I know this was written to Israel, way back in the day. BUT I also know that the Word is living and breathing and applicable to my life.

In the midst of my crazy life it was a huge comfort to me (and a good reminder) this morning to know that God IS with me. He IS mighty. He delights in ME! His love is a calming, peaceful love. He will quiet me with His love. He rejoices over ME...with singing!

This totally hit my heart this morning in a good way. Jesus loves me and finds great pleasure in who I am.

Dad, help me to do the same. Help me to see what you see and to delight in it. You made me exactly the way I am, thank you for making me a hand-crafted work of art.

RC's going climbing...I'm stuck in the zoo

So RC's leaving tonight and will be gone all weekend. Climbing at Red Rock (Kentucky). I'll be here...in the rain...with the dogs. Oh well. I'm sure I'll come up with something fun to do...

Oh...and I did! I rode my bike 25 miles today!
